From the collection of Arthur Williams Hall (1873-1952) of Massachusetts, bibliophile and manufacturer of laboratory equipment, with his acquisition notes on verso of front free endpaper; thence by descent through three generations. Yellow ribbon marker separated and laid in. Binding with mild soiling, edgewear, and sunning to spine; interior with repair to one leaf and scattered spotting in the margins. Very Good. This edition is noted not only for the quality of the Baskerville production, but also for Dodsley's editorial choices, including the personality-filled speech patterns of the animal characters.
