Title: The Rin Tin Tin Story

Author: English, James W.

Publication: New York: Dodd, Mead & Company, 1955.

Description: First edition, fourth printing of "The Rin Tin Tin Story," a biography of Rin Tin Tin, the German Shepherd who became a Hollywood star in the 1920s. Bound in full green cloth with red lettering on the spine. Dust jacket, possibly from another edition, printed in green and brown with an image of Rin Tin Tin on the front panel. 8.25 x 5.75 inches; [8], 247, [1] pages. Gift inscription dated 1960 on the front free endpaper. Moderate damp-staining and soiling to the binding with a few spots of soiling to the top edge of the text block. Dust jacket with sunned spine and front panel, shallow chips at the extremities, moderate soiling of the rear panel, and crossed-out price on the front flap. Very Good- in Good+ dust jacket. A somewhat worn copy with a nevertheless pleasing shelf appearance and bright image of Rin Tin Tin on the dust jacket. The book details Rin Tin Tin's origins as a dog rescued from a French battlefield by American soldier Lee Duncan during World War I, his rise to fame in movies and on television, and the successful careers of his descendants. The dust jacket may be from another printing, as the front flap incorrectly refers to the book being illustrated with photographs.
