In plain paper wrappers, with the title in manuscript in blue ink on the front wrapper, suggesting that these are proof copies. (In contrast, the published edition of this set consists of slightly larger hardcovers in dust jackets.) Preliminary pages repeated in Slovenian, Hungarian, and English. Printed from the original wood blocks by Mladi Grafičar in Ada, then of Yugoslavia. 1.75 x 1.5 inches; 4 volumes (unpaged). The volume on Toronto, present in the published edition, is wanting here. Light soiling to the covers, but a clean interior. A Very Good, rare proof copy of this pictorial travelogue.
Károly Andruskó was called "the greatest miniature book artist" by miniature book expert Louis W. Bondy. Andruskó was also known for his woodcut bookplates.
