Description: A complete set of 32 chromolithographs depicting traditional Swiss styles of dress, published by the Polygraphisches Institut of Zürich circa 1898. The illustrations are printed on card stock and housed loose, as issued, in a portfolio covered in a red floral textile, with title and imprint in gilt. 8.5 x 5.5 inches (portfolio); 8.25 x 5 inches (plates); [32] plates (chromolithographs). Laid in are three contemporary color postcards, advertising the Swiss costume-making services of Mme. Emma Roesli of Lucerne. Small nicks to corners of the plates and toning on the blank versos, not affecting the illustrations. The portfolio has a binder's ticket, pencil marks on the interior flaps, and some splitting at the folds of the flaps. Both the portfolio and plates Very Good+. A brightly-colored set of illustrations, rare with all 32 plates.
