Second edition of the Editorial Losada edition, published on the 25th anniversary of the author's death. Title page in red and black. Bound in full tan and brown cowhide, with leather strips threaded through holes punched in the edges, with loop-and-knot fastening, lettering and image of gaucho branded onto front cover, signed "RFL", with sprinkled endpapers and leather page marker. 8 x 5.5 inches; 198, [2] pages (last leaf blank). Gift note on front fly-leaf and signature of former owner on title page. Very slight darkening of the spine and indentation of the front cover at the loop-and-knot closure, else a clean copy in an attractive binding. Very Good+. The author was a friend and literary partner of Jorge Luis Borges.
