Freedom Struggle

Title: Freedom Struggle

Author: Provisional I.R.A.

Publication: [Jackson Heights, N.J.]: [Irish Northern Aid], 1974.

Description: Pamphlet by the Provisional Irish Republican Army (IRA), recounting the history of British repression in the North of Ireland and the IRA's militant actions. Undated, but circa 1974. Presumed first U.S. edition. Cover title. Black-and-white photo illustrations. Stapled in pictorial card wrappers. 8.5 x 5.25 inches; 96 pages, [8] pages of plates. Moderate fading to front wrapper, a touch of toning to interior, slight musty smell. Very Good.

When first published in Ireland in 1973, this pamphlet was seized by the government, the plates melted down, and the publisher and printers found guilty of publishing an incriminating document -- hence, the statement on the wrapper that "this book is BANNED in Ireland, North and South."
