Title: Men's March for Women's Lives

Author: Men Who Care About Women's Lives

Publication: [San Francisco, California]: Men Who Care About Women's Lives, 1989.

Description: Bifolium advertisement for the Men's March for Women's Lives, in support of abortion rights for women, on Father's Day, June 18, 1989 in San Francisco, California. Includes a description of the march and reasons for marching, advertisements from supporters and sponsors, and a list of labor activists supporting the march. Printed in black and purple on newsprint. Black-and-white-photo illustrations. Tabloid-sized bifolium, 17.5 x 11.5 inches; 4 pages. Horizontal fold at center. A rather toned, but clean copy. Very Good.

The march organizer was the 800-member group Men Who Care About Women's Lives, a project of the Feminist Men's Alliance. Sponsors of the march included the ACLU, California Abortion Rights Action League, National Gay Rights Advocates, Planned Parenthood, American Jewish Congress, and the Bay Area Coalition Against Operation Rescue. Substantial organizing and financial assistance also came from the gay community. Rare, with no copies appearing in the trade or on Worldcat.
