Jack Glover was a collector of the Old West, an artist, a writer, and a bronze sculptor. "More Bobbed Wire" was an expansion of Glover's first guide, titled "Bobbed Wire." In the preface, Glover emphasizes that the illustrations are based on actual samples from barbed wire collections, not from patent filings. Subsequent publications included eleven editions of "Bobbed Wire Bible." For many years, Glover also operated the Cowboy Museum, which contained items from his Old West collection.
