Limited to 257 copies on rag paper (of which, this is one) and 3 copes on Japanese vellum. Each volume with an added illustrated title page and a second plate, both in color aquatint, designed and etched by Rudolph Ruzicka. Bound in publisher's full blue cloth over boards, stamped in gilt, with top edge gilt. 7 x 4.5 inches; 3 volumes: xliv,167, [1] pages, [2] leaves of plates; [8],188, [2] leaves of plates; [8],199, [1] pages, [2] leaves of plates. Eight-page prospectus with aquatint title page laid in. From the collection of Arthur Williams Hall (1873-1952) of Massachusetts, bibliophile and manufacturer of laboratory equipment, with his small pencil note to front free endpaper of vol. 1; thence by descent through three generations. Binding with trivial edgewear and slight sunning to spine; very clean interior. Fine.
