Author: Alliance for Responsible Employment and Admissions Policies (AREAP)
Publication: [San Francisco]: Alliance for Responsible Employment and Admissions Policies (AREAP), 1977.
Description: Flyer from University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) School of Medicine student group Alliance for Responsible Employment and Admissions Policies (AREAP) arguing in support of affirmative action in admissions, which was soon to be reviewed by the Supreme Court in the Bakke case. Undated, but 1977. Photocopied in black on yellow paper. 14 x 8.5 inches; 1 sheet, text on recto only. Wear to the top edge with a 0.5-inch tear. Good.
In 1978 the Court decided in Bakke that rigid racial quotas were unconstitutional, but race could still be considered in admissions decisions. This continued until the Court ruled against affirmation action in admissions in 2023. Worldcat shows no institutional holdings.
