Title: Reflections on the Women's Movement: An Assessment of Change and Its Limits
Author: Epstein, Cynthia Fuchs
Publication: New York: Institute of Life Insurance, 1975.
Description: An essay by sociologist Cynthia Fuchs Epstein about progress, or lack thereof, in the role of women in the workplace, education, politics, and other domains. First edition. In stapled wrappers with black lettering. 9 x 6 inches; [2], 36 pages. Laid in is a signed presentation note from the author: "I'm hurried as usual but this is an example of what I've been doing. I'm a full professor now!" Also laid in is a photocopy of the author's 1973 essay "Bringing Women In: Rewards, Punishments, and the Structure of Achievement." Significant toning to the edges of the wrappers and the author's middle name added in pen on the title page, else a clean copy with minimal soiling. Very Good. Cynthia Fuchs Epstein is known for her scholarly work in sociology, specifically on women in the workplace. She is an Emeritus Distinguished Professor of Sociology at the City University of New York Graduate Center. Her books include "Women's Place: Options and Limits in Professional Careers" and "Women in Law."
