With a bookplate stating "Property of the Norwood Press Club. Presented by George P. Brett, President of the Macmillan Company, New York, N.Y." Embossed stamp on the title page reading "Norwood Press Club, Norwood, Mass., 1907." The Norwood Press printed textbooks, bibles, catalogs, and pamphlets in Norwood, Massachusetts from 1894 to 1952. The Norwood Press Club was a social and athletic club established in 1907 for employees of the Norwood Press, later opened to residents of the town of Norwood (Norwood Historical Society website). Bumped spine ends and corners and mild soiling on the fore-edge. Some gatherings remain unopened at the fore-edge. A Very Good copy with an interesting provenance and a particularly bright gilt portrait of Goldsmith on the upper cover.
