Bound in half brown calfskin leather with marbled paper over boards, spine decorated in gilt with red lettering piece, marbled text edges and marbled endpapers. 7.5 x 5 inches; 552 pages. Signature of former owner W.I. Lincoln Adams, dated August 6, 1886. Moderate wear to binding with loss of leather in some spots, but a clean interior. Very Good. Former owner Washington Irving Lincoln Adams (1865-1946) was a politician, banker, photographer, and author and served as a major in the U.S. Army during World War One. He was also a descendant of U.S. Presidents John Adams and John Quincy Adams.
