Description: First edition, first printing of this poetry chapbook by Black poet Sandra Royster. In stapled yellow card wrappers, with lettering and decoration printed in brown, green, and black. 8.5 x 5.5 inches; 23, [1] pages. Light dust-soiling on the rear wrapper, else Fine. Sandra Howe Royster was born on the South Side of Chicago and became a poet, teacher, and program director, who contributed to the Black Arts Movement in Chicago and remained deeply involved in promoting the arts until her death in 1999. The Third World Press was founded by Haki Madhubuti in 1967 after he was inspired by a visit to Dudley Randall's Broadside Press in Detroit. Still operating today, it is the oldest independent Black publisher in the U.S.
